In the examples above you have a company formed in June 2015 showing no Annual Return information at all (overdue or otherwise) and no confirmation statement due until 2017. However a company formed a month later in July has a statement due in 2016. There are a lot of companies where the same is true. Companies House Direct/XML also seems to be a bit messed up when it comes to these dates.
Hard to keep all the dates straight in my head but it looks like there is an issue where a Companies Annual Return was due, but not overdue during the changeover period (possibly to do with the shortening of the grace period?).
In theory I guess the confirmation date is correct here, however it’s not showing that there is a missing Annual Return.
The big question is whether or not the Annual Return will start showing as overdue when it actually is overdue, or had it slipped through the net entirely. That should be answered by looking at a company where the AR became overdue between 1st July and now I guess.
Here’s one…
EUREKA! (UK) LTD 07059917
Last Annual Return 4 June 2015
Confirmation statement due by 3 June 2017
This Company’s Annual Return became overdue on the 1st of July, however it’s not shown as being due or overdue in the API. In CHD it shows:
Last Return Made Up To: 04/06/2015
Confirmation Statement Due: 01/07/2016 OVERDUE
