Unable to create application

Receiving this error when trying to create my first application. Is there a workaround?

I did manage to create an application, and register an API key, but the API key offered isn’t working, and getting this same vague error message when trying to list my applications or register another one. A useful hint would be whether it’s something to do with the configuration of my particular account, and whether ‘Try again’ means in milliseconds, minutes, days or weeks later.
