403 Forbidden Error When Creating OAuth Web Client in Companies House Test Application

We’re encountering a 403 Forbidden error every time we attempt to create an OAuth Web Client under our Companies House Test Application.

Steps we’ve tried:

  • Tested with multiple redirect URIs (http:// and https://)
  • Logged out/in
  • Switched browsers

Yet the issue persists.

We’d like to confirm:

  • Is there a restriction on creating OAuth Web Clients in the Test environment?
  • Are there prerequisites (e.g., approval steps, permissions, etc.) before generating OAuth credentials?
  • If this is a known issue, can Companies House manually create a client on our behalf?
